We Breed Drum Horses. Show Drum Horses, train Drum Horses, Event Drum Horses, feed Drum Horses, care for Drum Horses, ride Drum Horses, love Drum Horses, and while doing all that, we do our best to keep them free and happy. Learned that from rescuing equines during the same time we have been into Drum Horses.

To me the happiest horses in the world are free. Every horse we have loves people, but we still like to keep them free, as you can tell by the pictures and videos on this web page. Does that dampen our training program? Yes it does.
Happy horses are more important to us then training. We are very lucky we live in a place we can do both. Unless a horse is sick or injured, they spend very little time in a stall here. I learened much of this from a friend in Alberta Canada. Who has the friendliest and healthy horses I have ever seen.

The Drum Horse breed type is one of the most versatile horses in the world. They are draft horse size thus can pull heavy loads. They excel in almost every driving (wagon, buggy, etc.) Type. Other activities that drum horses excel in are dressage, western dressage, mountain trail competition, steeple chases, fox hunting, barrel racing, team penning, reigning, equine therapy, and maybe their best suit is as mounted police patrol horses. Two of our drum horses are on the Kentucky horse park's in Lexington Kentucky, mounted police patrol.
First they must be large and tall. Mares averaging 16 hands and geldings 17 plus hands. They have abundant hair. Long and thick manes and tails. A long forelock, and abundant feathers, which is the long hair covering a horses hoofs. They can be any color or marking type. The most common is black or brown and white tobiano.
The Drum horse is a cross between the Gypsy, Clydesdale, and Shire. They are large horses and need to be able to carry a 300-pound load, with the rider, tack, and Drums.
