The word Hytyme, was derived in 1982, when we purchased our first Smooth Fox Terrier (Hytyme Magnum PI). Then it expanded in 2005 to add Hytyme Equine Rescue and Hytyme Enterprises Drum Horses. The name Hytyme came from my wife Sherry. She thought it was Hytyme we got a Kennel name.
In 2005 we were looking at Gypsy Horses, like we saw in Ireland in 1996. Then my wife saw what I call "The Picture" of Galway Warrior being trotted along a fence line in England. Not long after that, we found old Mill Farms in Pennsylvania. Our first and not last meeting with Rhonda Zeigler. We purchased two stallions. OMF's Apollo, and OMF's Gideon at Hytyme. Both sons of the great English Drum Horse stallion Chewmill Guinness that Rhonda imported to the USA a few years before. Guinness was the first Drum Horse to step foot on USA soil. They both became multiple Supreme Grand Champions, and sired multiple Supreme Grand Champions.
Then 18 years of showing, Dressage, National Mountain Trail Championships, Hunter Jumping, Western Dressage, Ranch Training, and enjoying the most beautiful breed type in the six Drum Horses. Our greatest accomplishment, and one of the best happenings in Drum Horse history, is two of our Drum Horse geldings, Turk and Legend are officers in the World Famous Kentucky Horse Park's Mounted Police Patrol. We have a page dedicated to the Kentucky Horse Park.
Now in 2023, we are long time members of the International Drum Horse Association, and in the last three years, the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association/Traditional Drum Horse Society. Andrea Briggs, who runs the TGCA, has enlightened me to the English visions of the breed type Drum Horse. We breed within the standards of these organizations, we strive for the tallest Drum Horse like Queen of England. Elizabeth's Drum Horses of her Household Calvary. Also the logo of The Traditional Drum Horse Society is a picture of a great Drum Horse, Chewmill Guinness. 17.2 hands. We now have one of the largest Drum Horse herds in the world. Our mission is to make the breed type Drum Horse well known throughout the world. The Kentucky Horse Park, the Traditional Drum Horse Society, and the International Drum Horse Association are all helping to make this happen.
